Dr Strauts is a medical doctor with over 20 years experience in phlebology, which involves the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease. Most veins lie deep to the skins surface, therefore vein disorders are not always visible to the naked eye. Many people seek treatment for unsightly veins, swelling, heaviness, fatigue or painful legs. Our clinic is equipped with advanced medical equipment that enables Dr Strauts to perform a thorough physical assessment and determine the best treatment for your vein health. For your consultation call our office located in the South Surrey/White Rock area.
Dr. Strauts has been involved in the study and treatment of vein problems since 1993. He was introduced to the field of phlebology by an ex-classmate and prominent Calgary phlebologist, Dr. Louis Grondin. He subsequently attended courses taught by world renowned leaders in the field in Vienna, Paris and Texas. Dr Strauts was one of the first physicians in Canada to incorporate endovenous laser treatment into his practice.
His introduction to laser and aesthetic medicine was in 1996 at which time he received training in the use of IPL , lasers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, collagen fillers and Botox. He was honoured to receive his first Botox training in the earlier years of this art from the well known Botox pioneer, Dr Alastair Carruthers.
Dr Strauts has helped develop laser treatment protocols for new laser equipment, and has helped develop teaching and instructional manuals on the aesthetic use of laser technology.
Dr Strauts also has an interest in preventive, nutritional, environmental and anti aging medicine. He has written and published a book on environmental heavy metal toxicity and the effect on neurologic development. He has more than 20 years experience in the use of chelation therapy for heavy metal detoxification. Dr Strauts believes slowing the aging process begins from within. Nutrition, detoxification, stress reduction, exercise, the use of supplements and cosmetic treatments all work together to provide good health, confidence and a sense of well being.
Dr Strauts received his formal education at the University of Oregon where he received his BSc in biological sciences. He got his MD from the University of Calgary and completed his family practice residency program at the University of British Columbia. His memberships include The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia, Doctors of BC, The American College of Phlebology, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging medicine. He is a fellow of the Canadian Society of Phlebology.
